I thought you might enjoy seeing a few sketches from my third picture book, which is designed to help bring financial education to kids. It had always been a dream of mine to pen a children’s book. Back in 2010, I published my first book to help kids learn money smarts, titled Joe the Monkey Saves for a Goal. I followed that up with Joe the Monkey Learns to Share, where Joe and friends learn a valuable lesson about charity. (Here’s what Sweetie’s Pics has to say about the second book.)
The final book of the Share, Save, Spend Smart trilogy (the one I’m working on right now) will tackle the subject in a different way, as Joe learns a lesson in spending smart while watching an obsessive spending craze sweep through Coconut Valley, affecting both his friends and his life. I hope you enjoy this sneak preview of some of the rough illustrations and even some of the new characters. I’m working hard to have the book out in time for Financial Literacy Month, which also happens to be National Credit Union Youth Month. Please share this post with anyone who might be interested in financial education for kids. Thanks.
