About Snigglezoo Entertainment & The Money Mammals

Founded in 2006, Snigglezoo Entertainment™ produces engaging children's entertainment. Snigglezoo Entertainment's The Money Mammals® teach children two and up to "Share & Save & Spend Smart Too!" via several products and programs, including an award-winning DVD, children's picture book and credit union youth savings program.

The Money Mammals characters - Joe the Monkey, Clara J. Camel, Piggs the Bank and Marmoset - have been teaching kids and families to "Share & Save & Spend Smart, Too" for over five years now. The Money Mammals DVD, which was the first to feature singing and dancing puppets to teach financial literacy to young children, was highlighted by The Wall Street Journal as one of its "Toys that Teach Savings Savvy." The DVD entertains and engages kids and parents via upbeat songs and a story line that illustrates the importance of not only saving money but also sharing (charitable giving) and spending smart. Children also learn about the differences between needs and wants, making smart money choices and the concept of allowance. The Dr. Toy Award Wining-DVD and its companion Teaching Guide are now used across the country by financial institutions and organizations.

The characters and content featured in the DVD have grown into The Money Mammals Saving Money Is Fun Kids Club, a youth marketing and education program licensed by credit unions nationwide. Find out more at demo.clubmoneymammals.com. The Kids Club is endorsed by the Texas Credit Union Foundation as well as Iowa educators as part of the 21st Century Learning Skills and Iowa Core Curriculum.

The Money Mammals children's book, Joe the Monkey Saves for a Goal, teaches kids about the importance of setting goals within the context of saving money. Joe the Monkey, the main Money Mammals character, learns to save for a special toy he wants throughout the book. Joe is tempted to spend his savings, but with a little help from a friend, he stays on course and achieves his goal in the end. The book has already won a Dr. Toy Best Picks Award and a Creative Child Magazine Preferred Choice Award in the Educational Books category. A Reading Guide is also available to assist educators in classroom settings.

Snigglezoo Entertainment has developed several other Money Mammals-themed products to continue to build upon the initial message of sharing, saving and spending smart. The overarching message for everything the company produces is to make learning about financial literacy fun for kids AND parents.

It is imperative to teach children about the value of money - to "Share and Save and Spend Smart, too!" - as early as possible. Young children can be engaged with entertainment to learn the "value of money" message. Snigglezoo Entertainment and The Money Mammals want to help raise a generation of fiscally responsible kids.

About the Characters

Joe the Monkey

Joe the Monkey is the lead singer of The Money Mammals band, but he insists on being treated like your average "Joe." He is a level-headed monkey, does well in school and takes his vine-swinging lessons and band practice very seriously. However, that doesn't mean he's a perfect kid. He is as susceptible as the next mammal to the pitfalls and mistakes that children often make. What sets him apart from everyone else is that he has the ability to figure his way out of these situations. And because he's a natural born leader, he brings his friends right along with him. Joe also makes the best coconut juice this side of the Mississippi.

Piggs the Bank

Piggs is a fun and slightly neurotic pig. He is also literally a piggy bank, and his friends actually store money in his back! Piggs has a very good heart, though his emotions cloud his judgment in many situations. He's a gifted guitar player - he plays lead for the band - and is quite adept with a hammer and nails. Piggs also loves playing video games, mud bathing and collecting Coconut Hero Cards.

Clara J. Camel

Clara has the swiftest intellect of The Money Mammals. She's also the oldest in the group. Clara is an amazing, thoughtful, friend, though she and Piggs tend to share a difference of opinions at times. Clara relies heavily on Joe the Monkey, because he takes action when she tends to overanalyze a situation. In addition to being the most money savvy of the group, she's a voracious reader of literary classics and an exceptional student at her elementary school. She plays guitar (and sometimes keyboards) for The Money Mammals.

Marmoset the Monkey

Marmoset is Joe's pink-haired, skateboard-loving little sister. She's as adventurous as she is cute. Even if the older kids wanted to leave her behind, Marmoset would never allow it to happen. She's a great friend and an integral part of the group. Marmoset is highly intelligent for her age and often points out things that older Mammals miss. Marmoset also plays soccer and loves airplanes.
